Your Visit

Our goal is to make your visit to Southeastern Endodontics as pleasant and efficient as possible. When you first call the office, one of our experienced schedule coordinators will select an appointment best suited for your particular needs. This may be a consultation, an emergency visit, routine root canal treatment, surgical root canal therapy or other type of procedure.

When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted by our front desk staff who will assist you with all necessary paperwork. All patients and parents of minors are required to complete a medical history form. Please be assured that all information you provide will be regarded as confidential by all doctors and staff at Southeastern Endodontics.

To ensure our ability to perform all necessary diagnostic and treatment procedures during your scheduled appointment, please make certain that you bring with you a list of all medications that you are currently taking. Also, if you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic pre-medication because of mitral valve prolapse, heart murmur, hip or cardiac prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please be sure to follow all pre-medication instructions prior to your visit.

If you have dental insurance, our staff will supply you with an estimated co-pay amount. Once services are provided, our office staff will prepare your insurance claim form for you to mail to your insurance company to achieve the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. Your estimated co-pay and the payment for any non-covered procedures is expected at the time the treatment is rendered.

Consultation

You may first be seen at Southeastern Endodontics for diagnostic evaluation in order to determine the nature of the existing problem. During the consultation, we will carefully review your medical and dental history, symptoms, and results of diagnostic tests and radiographic information to establish the diagnosis and decide on the proper treatment. The recommended treatment plan, as well as available alternatives, will be discussed with you and you will have an opportunity to have your questions answered. Based on the results of the consultation, we may be able to begin treatment at that time; otherwise another appointment will be scheduled.

Emergency Visit

It is common in our practice for patients to present us with problems that have developed suddenly. We make every effort to see patients who have pain or swelling as soon as possible, usually on the same day that we become aware of the problem. Because these emergencies are worked into our regular schedule, there may be slight delays, but we are generally able to stay on time. At the time of the emergency visit, in addition to the consultation and diagnosis, treatment will be performed if it is determined to be necessary. Following this appointment, it will be necessary for the patient to return for the completion of endodontic therapy.
